Advice for individual investors

There is no real mystery in providing good advice for individual investors, the skill of the financial advisor lies in identifying what life stage you are at, what your goals are, and then finding the best products to meet your individual needs.

It helps if you can see life more as a business plan, than just day by day events that can sometimes catch us out. In a business plan you tend to break the headings up into:

1. Where am I now?

Make a list of your assets and investments and what you want to achieve from them.

2. Where do I want to be?

Decide on a time frame and what you would like to achieve by then. It could be retirement, or an event – like buying a house, or paying your child’s school fees.

3. How do I get there?

Your tactics – investments, savings etc.

4. How do I know I am on track?

This information you will get from your financial statements and we commit to a twice yearly review of your finances.

5. What happens if my circumstances change?

If your circumstances change let your Bridge Advisor know and they can review your investment strategy with you.

It is important to have a balanced portfolio with sufficient liquid assets (cash savings and investments). We also advise on Income Protection.

At Bridge Investments Partners our advice for individual investors marries your personal business plan with your life-cycle stage and your attitude to risk to create an appropriate Asset Allocation for you.
